And One's first full length is still one of their best. Ok, let's get "Metalhammer" out of the way first... yes it's their most well known song, yes it still kicks ass if you're lucky enough to hear it at a club and yes, it is worth buying this album for, but let us not overlook some other gems on this album. "Second Voice" is a great club track, and a dangerously close mimic of that famous Front 242 sound, but has that quirky synth that is undeniably And One. "Exit" is another track that works very well, with a childlike melody put up against hard drums and nice panning percussion throughout. We also are treated to fun tracks like "And One" and "Synthetik", both instrumentals, which you rarely hear anymore in the synthpop & EBM scenes. All in all, Anguish is still my favorite And One release, and although it shows its age, they should never be ashamed of it.
