Thank you to Oi! The Boat for putting this out! Anger Flares have been around for some time and like many of their country men they have gone unnoticed in the states. I am hopping this album helps their cause.
The sound is angry, punchy, and packed with backstreet attitude. This is the sound of a circle pit. You hear that power on the first track "Fighting For Survival". The rhythm section throbs and pulsates. Vocals that sound like Roger from Agnostic front jab in to my ears like a left hook!. The chorus has a full sound that adds the vocal hook to the raging sound of the track. Add a ripping guitar solo and this song is tops! With a intro that fades in to the forefront "Let's Get Drunk" has the a punchy fun sound that reminds me of King Size Braces. The looping guitars and easy to sing-a-long chorus will have plenty of shaved heads singing this one drunk and happy. Oi!
With a guitar sound that lives some were between Rancid and Sham 69 "On The Street Again" is packed with a spicy sound. The choruses give the song that big street punk sound of the late 90's like GC5 and The Street Dogs. Stomping pub cadence is the sound for "Search For The Light". The only thing this song is missing is the sound of beer glasses clanging around in the back ground.

With a singer that sounds like Roger Miret and a sound that reminds me of bands like The Street Dogs, King Size Braces, and The Class Assassins. This album will be a big hit for fans of sing-a-longs whoa, Whoa's and simple fun lyrics. My only knock on the album is the lyrics they are delivered and written well but they have little substance other then surface subject matter that is so common in this genre. I was hoping for a band that has been at it for awhile and that do sound this good they would put some bite in the lyrics. Oh well still a great sounding album that is a lot of fun.
