Another Fine Day makes his debut with LIFE BEFORE LAND, and from the primordial sounds on the title track, the journey through time and space begins. The gentle melodies drift above gentle rhythms, and nowhere is this more lovingly craft than on the blissful "Lazy Daisy," a gorgeous slice of ambience. "Esperanto" clatters into being, then fades away into nighttime radio static, allowing the deeper, warm tones and double bass of "Green Thought (In Green Shade)" to emerge. More indigenous percussion and wave splashes punctuate "Ammonite Spiral," whereas "So Blue" is starts off beatless in its drift before the alien blipping comes in to create that spacious feel. "Buckets And Spades" concludes the journey earthbound once more, with a refracting guitar and a quiet melody. This life is definitely worth living again and again.
