Reissue please! This is one of the best electro EPs ever released. Saw him live in 2001, in his best form imo...man what a beast!

Dark, disturbing, politically incorrect - and utterly fantastic. Hollow, tinny drum machine, pseudo hip hop bass, an almost comically deep male vocoder and eerie synth chords all mix together with perfect precision for night driving or the dance floor. A sonic and, perhaps even more notably, a thematic departure in techno music that was never really explored again by Rother or anyone else. An evil update of Kraftwerk for the cynical late 90s street corners of Amsterdam.

Destroy him my robots is great but it's Red Light Combat for me, slow paced by electro standards but builds to an absolute crescendo.

By far the strongest release by Anthony Rother. Both 'Redlight District' and 'Destroy Him My Robots' absolutely wreck the dancefloor, and prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Rother WAS one of the electro heavyweights.
Nowadays, his music makes me feel flat, and I feel he has become somewhat lazy and complacent due to the high status he seems to command.
Still, with this record you CAN believe the hype, and it remains one of the finest electro releases from the 90s.

One of Rother's greatest moments here. Dark, atmospheric and razor sharp beats make this a true classic electro E.P.
If you love electro and don't own this ...shame on you.
