Antonelli Electr.'s debut, PENG PENG BABY, sounds like a European cousin of the Environ crew: warm 80s synths, easygoing electro grooves, light disco worship. Indeed, "Fantastic! (To Wake Up With You)" could be a Morgan Geist track, and no one would be the wiser. Elsewhere, "Dubby Disco" gives exactly that, though one could apply that label to "I Don't Want Nobody Else But You" as well. There's just enough boom-bap in "Bang Bang Baby" to make it slightly dirtier than the other tracks, while "Rob" and "Gedankenverloren" seem slightly darker and more spare. "Production" tops off the album with a more techno vibe, but it's all part of the fun.
