this is a very good hard rock bootleg compilation of glenn tipton from judas priests first band prior to glenn joining priest, this band certainly had its hard rock roots cut out for them as far back as 1972 as you can see on the info here, it was actually a tour in 1972 the flying hat band did opening for deep purple in europe that eventually got glenn the priest gig by late 1973, anyway i hear many early 70s hard rock influences here, i agree with the below review regarding sounding like hard stuff but i can also hear steel mill, stud and quatermass vibes in here as well, since the FHB have never officially put any of this stuff out this boot is your best bet as i bought this a good 20++ years ago and to this day still never see anything coming out of the vaults by this long lost great outfit.....ps expect this to sound nothing like judas priest!!!

The Flying Hat Band is the band Glenn Tipton had before joining Judas Priest in 1974.

The F.H.B. have a similar sound to Black Sabbath but also makes remember other bands of the time like Horse, Fuzzy Duck or even Hard Stuff. Four songs were recorded with good quality sound as a demo in 1973 featuring the heavy blues guitar wailing of this later-to-be Metal master.

I think the tracks 4 to 5 are no Antrubus. They seem to be Iron Claw recordings that you can find on their album Dismorphophobia!

"Complete album in 1972 but shortly after the band folded and the album has never been released. If 'Progressive Rock' should need an expression yet, ANTROBUS' music could be the one. Great guitars, great voices and even heavy blues rock are part of this rare example of a dead band before it really began to live.THE FLYING HAT BAND were in 1974 contracted by the new WWA label which other great artists like Groundhogs, Black Sabbath and Gentle Giant were on. During the recording sessions guitar player Glenn Tipton got the offer to join Judas Priest, he did, and THE FLYING HAT BAND lost its head. Without Tipton's innovative guitar playing the band had no further life. Four tracks of this great guitar rock band were recorded then, coming on the surface on this CD for the first time. "
