Companies, etc.

Picture disc version of Analord 10, displaying the Aphex Twin logo. Stickered clear plastic sleeve.
No main artist or durations appear on release. It does come under the Aphex Twin pseudonym and not AFX as the rest of the Analord releases. This fact is evident on the 2006 compilation Chosen Lords.

This picture disc was distributed for sale in shops, unlike ANALORD 10 which was pressed on black vinyl with label art in January 2005 along with a limited edition Analord collectors' binder.
The binder was only available with the initial black vinyl pressing and only distributed via mailorder via the Rephlex website.

The grooves start one inch in from the outer rim, as would a 10" record.
The music on the picture disc is the same as on the original pressing.

Fenix Funk 5 sounds terrible, such a shame. Xmd 5A on the other hand sound great.

XMD5A is my favorite track of the analord series by far

This pressing has a terrible quality contrary to the other black Analord vinyl releases in the series.

Any pictures or specific details to look for that standout on the legitimate analord 10 or vice versa on counterfeit knock offs bootlegs or whatever thing it was made from to look like original ?

Good thing the volume levels and the heaviness of both tracks mostly hide the inherent noise of a picture disc, especially one from over a decade ago. Analord 10 has always been the one fragment of the series that has no fallacies; although only two tracks in this record, both are excellent. I can only think of Analord 03 and 08 that have merit of having one good track, but the rest don't hold up for my palette.

I wish Richard D. James can re-release the entire series digitally from his personal online store. Would love to own a lossless copy of my favorite tracks.

Great tracks, though awful pressing compared to the impeccable crafted vinyls in the rest of the Analord serie.

As much as picture discs look cool the sound quality always suffers, I would rather a decent heavy black version.

Anyone who has the picture vinyl in the original PVC sleeve, remove the record from it asap! the PVC sleeve will destroy the look and sound quality. Get a normal inner and outer sleeve for it.

The only way to get a hold of Analord 10 on vinyl without the binder. Surprisingly little surface noise for a picture disc. Can't be the same pressing as the black vinyl because the groove starts somewhat recessed, almost like standard 10'.

Seems like Richard reserved his best tracks for Analord 10 since they came with the binder and this picture disc but that's up for the listener to decide.

Probably won't be unobtainium collectible in 20 years, but let's see.

XMD5A is my favorite of the Analord series. it's haunting piano plays in my head at odd parts of the day long after the last time I've listened to it. fenixfunk 5 is no slouch either, together these tracks literally put me in an altered state. if you want to listen to somthing that will transport you, this is it.
