It took me a while to enjoy this album, but it has really grown on me. It's classic Aphex. The whole thing is great.

Im not going to whine about the lp pressing because I don't buy vinyl but the cd sounds amazing.
Even in 2019 I am amazing how complex yet how much more accessible this release is compared to some of Aphex's releases in the last decade and a half. He focuses on really interesting rhythmic juxtapositions but utilizing sounds and textures we electronica fans are most familiar with i.e. a ton of analog bass lines, sweeps, drum sounds and so on and so forth.
A really solid effort I only recently have learned to appreciate but then again AT is like vintage wine it never gets rancid only improves thru age adding complexity and finesse!

I thought it was a great pressing. You can hear some noise in the last track, but other than that it's great in my book.

Not sure about the complaints here, but I find this pressing great-sounding. My issues are, all three discs are slighty warped, which thankfully does not affect playback in any way (Bleep needs to step up on their packaging game), and I have a pressing defect right on the last track, which I've already contacted support and they can send a replacement.

PS: got my replacement long ago, and still thoroughly enjoying it!

Does anyone actually have a copy that doesn't have all the distortion on the right speaker channel?! 1st disc especially. Went on the Hoffman forum and most people say the same except for a cpl "mine's fine." Dunno if I trust people... I (possibly idiotically) assume they just casually had it playing in the bg and didn't happen to notice. The distortion drives me nuts! Ridiculous for such an absolutely amazing album...

The sound of this double vinyl is simply horrible, there's no clarity in the register of 'bass', or so is the stereo spatialization and 'treble' that make the charm of analog sound ? Very bad Press from Warp !!

I don't know about pressing quality (which is maybe of poor quality here) but I have a word to every hater and I'm sorry because I don't like to interfere on those subject, but : Trust me, for God sake, trust me when I say that this album has some majesty that you maybe can't feel, but don't qualify something of overrated, it's by definition stupid. Particularly when we talk about music and music of this quality. Minipops and xmas_evet are two of the greateast musical masterpiece of all time, respect this

After listening to the digital version of this amazing album well over a 100 times now, I'm sorry to say that this is actually a terrible pressing -- and I mean TERRIBLE. It took me a while to realize how bad it is, but after becoming intimately familiar with this album as well as upgrading my cartridge and phono stage which is now far more revealing (a blessing and a curse), the amount of distortion throughout this album is truly staggering. I'm a long time Aphex fan and this is my favorite album of his, and I'd say it's the best electronic album ever made as far as I'm concerned, but Warp continues to be the MOST aggravating label ever.

I'm running into a string of Warp releases that all suffer from this crappy distortion stuff going on, typically the right channel, and particularly with the bass. Plaid's "The Digging Remedy" is another fantastic album given a terrible pressing that suffers from this same kind of distortion, for example.

On Syro, by far the worst example of distortion happens on track "4 Bit 9d Api+e+6," one of my favorite tracks on the album -- completely ruined by scratchy distortion on the basslines and right channel. Absolutely awful, and I know I'm not the only one who's noticed it as other people have commented about it on forums. "Xmas_Evet10 (Thanaton3 Mix)," perhaps one of Richard's best tracks ever, isn't allowed to shine here because it's hidden behind a murky haze, muddy bass and of course, more distortion. What a damn shame.

It's really annoying that I have to listen to the digital version of this album to get any enjoyment out of it while I have *two* copies of this 3-LP album sitting in my shelf, both suffering from the same distortion. Not sure what happened with the vinyl because the digital version sounds amazing, even if a bit hot. Warp IS capable of doing it right, check out the recent Autechre repress of "Tri Repetae" and "Amber" for examples of how to press a record correctly. Those sound unbelievable on my system. Astonishing even. You would think Warp would give Richard the same treatment for an album they probably thought they'd never get -- but sadly, that was not the case here. I have many albums that sound truly fantastic, so I know it was something going on either at mastering or pressing errors.

If I were Richard I'd be less than amused. If there was ever an electronic album that must be heard on vinyl, this is it. Syro is 99% analog, all vintage synths and real hardware used on this record. According to him, the synths were not multi-tracked into a computer -- instead he used a hardware sequencer and they went through his analog mixer straight to tape. Anyone who produces electronic music knows how mind boggling that is, especially for this album. "Thanks Rich! Now here's your crappy pressing for your phenomenal album, but hey, we spread it across 3 records for you so we can charge a bit more!"

I'm playing through an upgraded Rega RP3 with a Groovetracer reference subplatter & counterweight, a Rega Exact 2 cartridge, Rega Aria phono stage through an NAD C 356BEE integrated amp, Dali Zensor 7 floor speakers and all Kimber speaker cables and interconnects.
