This ep is Aphex in his most raw fundamental form in the mid good ole days of dirty recording. Such a diverse amount of grooves but all lo-fi. I actually prefer the lo-fi Aphex sound. And as much as any Boards of Canada fan can tell you the dust and grit that covers the metallic and organic sounds that seem so familiar somehow. This ep and his Analogue Bubblebath 3 ep are brain twisters for the night time journeys.

"Ventolin" is a great track (although some people will hate it because of the unpleasent tone), but most of the tracks on this release fail to live up to the original track. Besides "Ventolin (Wheeze Mix)" and "Ventolin (Asthma Beats Mix)", the tracks feel like they were just unreleased material grabbed from RDJ's collection.
