I just picked this up brand new and mine has zero issues. Sides A and B both sound clear and well-defined. Sucks to hear there are clearly a large number of defective records, but some aren't FWIW.

I have the same issues with sound on this release. I've tried it on a Technics SL1200 turntable and a Numark TTX turntable. Both with a Shure M55-7 stylus and an Ortofon Arkiv stylus so basically high end DJ players. The A side sounds terrible compared to the digital version I already had.

A-Side sounds like trash on both of my SL1200's with E890 styli

Echoing the same issues here. Side A has very noticeable surface noise but Side B is adequate. A bit disappointing but still nice to have a physical copy of this EP

Wow yep thats awful. Persistant scratchy noise. I've been playing records back to back and it's not my equipment.

What the .. My first ever (and I hope the last) experience with buying defective vinyl.. Heavily distorted high mids and highs on both sides makes this record a beautiful Frisbee throwaway .. Impossible to listen , no fun at all.. Anyone got your money back on that??

Anyone with distortion problems need to state their cartridge and player. You might just need a better deck.

Just bought this vinyl today, and am currently listening to it. I can confirm that there is surface noise on the A-Side, and is quite bad at the start but goes away pretty quickly once it begins. I can hear some slight distortion on the track, but nothing crazy. To me it sounds like either the press has been remastered poorly, or that there's some extra sounds that you can't quite pick up on on the digital version but is a lot more prevalent in the vinyl release. What it sounds like to me is slightly distorted bass frequencies. I'm going to personally put it down to a bad remaster, as attempting to equalise at all ends poorly.

As for the B Side, I can't personally tell any difference between the Vinyl Release & the Digital Release (bar fidelity). Barely any surface noise, and I can actually equalise this side!

Setup is a Lenco L-85 going into my mixer.

Is this a new pressing?
I got the 2016 reissue and it had lots of distortion.
Is this problem resolved in this pressing?

My version sounds clean and not distorted in any way. A bit of surface noise of course, but come on guys. That's why we love vinyl don't we?!
