This EP is essential, my favourite track being "Inside Above" that conjures up and brings back so many memories and emotions.. A golden year for Techno in the UK and this track just does everything a Techno track could possibly do. It uplifts, it batters you into submission with drums and acid, it disorientates you and makes your brain feel like it's gurning yet it remains profoundly beautiful and ultra moving.
The perfect track. The hairs on my arms are standing up as i write this and I'm not even listening to it ! I'm just remembering and replaying parts of it in my brain..It's that good.
If you don't already know it, take a listen IMMEDIATELY ! Also grab a repress before the prices shoot up again !!

During 1996 I did the odd set on jungle-centric London pirate Rage FM. One morning at around dawn I played the A2 track "Horizons Forgotten" and the sleepy MC was suddenly invigorated, calling for a rewind and then delivering an animated diatribe about the old school over the track's intro. You really have to hand it to a techno tune that can drag a jungle MC to his feet at 6am on a Sunday morning.

‘Inside above’ leads a truly forgotten 4 track e.p from Dan Curtin, serious acid house with a real orchestral musical approach, almost classical with its changing moods and movements. Personally this is one of those records which deserved more credit than it actually got, the classic that never was.

A great Dan Curtin release. Acid, strings and complex rhythms. Worth looking for it
