APPARATUS sit comfortably in an area of music which has hewn a place for itself in modern society, despite it's apparent lack of airplay (in the UK anyway). The fact that it's on CHASE's RE-CONSTRICTION might give a hefty clue as to where the music anchors it's boat. But this isn't as hard as some Hardcore, nor is it as unrelentingly determined as some Torture Tech. All the elements are there, as is Punk and a mainstream Rock sound. And like so many in this field of music it buys it's influences and styles off the peg - hints of Rap and HipHop buried beneath a Rock music which is uafraid to use heavy amounts of electronics and sampling. Industrial noise and the occasional glitter of metal can also be heard in decent amounts.

So what makes APPARATUS different from so many in the same field? Well, to be honest, nothing much, but then they can certainly construct a catchy, hooky song, and have the power to put across what they want to say.

Have no fear of buying this - it's sharp, with some great songs, and the stolen samples sit quite easily in the mix, which isn't always the way of things. You'll not regret having it in your record collection, and it shouldn't gather dust for long.
