Notes

My Buddy was performed by Alvino Rey Orchestra in 1940, on a live radio broadcast. The song features Alvino Rey on pedal steel guitar and his wife Luise King Rey on the Sonovox.

Comes as a tri-fold cardboard paper sleeve. Originally came with a quill pen sticker and two inserts; one insert dedicating this single to Will and Win's grandparents, and a second insert that reads: "Coming September 14th on Merge Records - FUNERAL - The Arcade Fire's debut full-length album".

When I asked Merge I was told the US distributor (Merge) did not include the quill sticker, whereas the Canadian in-house AF team inserted the quill sticker. In all other respects the release does not differ. Accordingly my copy obtained from Merge US has no quill sticker. This highly prized release was also available in the UK, I'm not sure if they received the quill sticker insert in those copies?

The 'crack' is that this is the crown jewel of any Arcade Fire Collection. It was the first 7" released by the band, there were only 1500 pressed (it has never been repressed). The single is in a tri-fold wrap around sleeve in a poly over sleeve. It also comes with a small info sheet about Win Butler's grandparents (they were also musicians - and are featured as the Alvino Rey b-side). VERY RARE copies also came with an even more limited 'quill pen' sticker. I have just acquired one of the latter so will be advertising my sticker free copy (which is mint) here or elsewhere soon. The crack is this is a BEAUTIFUL collectors piece! Expensive but well worth it if you are a big fan...
