Brilliant stuff! I wish this group put out more music. When it said "Arcane 5" I thought this was their 5th release. Not to be..After searching the musicians I found a lot of there releases are "Chanson" genre which is French words....so that won't work. Bummer...that's it for these guys as far as free jazz unless you can recommend something. I'll put the "notification" button on. Thanx Jim.

Extract from my French Independent & Underground Obscurities article in Audion 56 (2010): Famously a NWW list item, Arcane V's MARRON DINGUE is one of those albums I really have to be in mood for to enjoy it. Best described as jazz meets avant-Mahjun territory, it's not at all what one would expect when you know that drummer Youval Micenmacher and guitarist Philippe Gumplowicz were from the excellent ethno combo Sonorhc. The sometimes almost unnerving jazz sax from Nano Peylet is what challenges most. But, heck, it's innovative!
