TOP RARITY soundtrack from the "lost" and heavily censored 1st movie by the director Adimiro Sala, shot in 1964, and released without a lot of forcedly deleted scenes in 1965. This director made only a very few movies from 1964 to 1973 and then disappeared. None of his movies are yet available on VHS, DVD (nor Blu Ray of course), as of now (July 2017). This movie "Il mito" is also known with the title "La violenza e l'amore". The score by the maestro Armando Trovajoli is a superb example of "suspense jazz": atmospheric "dark-ambient" tunes with tenuous sounds, alternated with unexpected stronger sounds, and more dynamic lounge-style parts. It is highly notable a small part with an amazing trumpet solo (I mean only trumpet playing with no background), and also a tune with an outstanding clean lounge guitar playing combined with Hammond organ. And another one with trumpet, guitar and Hammond. No vocal tracks are present. The matrix numbers of the first press on CAM label are machine stamped, as well as the date when the vinyl was pressed. Grade for this score: a sure 5/5!
