I am by no means an expert on music and especially not jazz. This pressing is a really nice one with very good spatial sense and tonal balance. I have only recently starting exploring bebop and this is the sort of album I have been looking for-it swings! It reminds me of the jazz of several years earlier in which the emphasis was still on melody as opposed to esoteric explorations or tone. It reminds me of what little I have heard of Duke Ellington's music. I'm not even sure if this is considered by afficianados as bebop. Regardless, it has that swing, and that means something! I will defintely be getting more music by Art Pepper.
