I was very excited to get my hands on this limited Astralasia 12". Packaging is very thick and opens like a large book rather than a typical gatefold sleeve. My white vinyl came with some brown marks on the surface, probably a defect from the pressing plant; quite unfortunate as it ruins what would have been an otherwise flawless presentation of vinyl and artwork. Moving on to the music itself, Astralasia starts off with more of the psychedelic rock sound they've been doing since Away With The Faeries and Cluster Of Waves. A Coloured in Dream is extremely fast, energetic and busy, lots of stuff going on with some screeching guitar and live drums. Not my cup of tea, but interesting nonetheless. Lambslide and Room 7, however, leave the rock instruments behind for some of the deepest, most hypnotic ambient Astralasia has ever done. There are no traces of trance, and very little dub; this is pure space music with occasional beats and lots of atmosphere. Certainly worth the cost of admission for these two gems.
