Cluster Of Waves follows in the footsteps of Astralasia's previous full length, Away With The Faeries; a lush, free flowing style of ambient dub with lots of psychedelic rock influence, found in electric guitar, occasional live drums and jam band improvisation. While perhaps not as hypnotic as earlier ambient output, it is certainly more accomplished in terms of production and retains a nostalgic feeling with the old 90s synth sounds and live jamming. Ashra Rising is especially good - a kind of modern "progressive dub" if there were such a thing. Not a big fan of the proggy tracks like Oh! Israel and Peace And Love, but I'm glad Astralasia continues to explore the further reaches of this genre because no one else is really doing it. 4/5
