I received a somewhat bowed pressing of this album. Side A was bowed downward slightly in a way that reduced contact with the record platter so that when I would use my vinyl brush it would easily stop the record from spinning due to the lack of surface contact. The record still tracked and played fine but so far this pressing is the best advertisement for a record weight clamp.

Despite this, the record was still fairly quiet with a dead noise floor and only subtle cracks.

The mastering for the album was a little bit interesting though. This mix appears to accentuate the highs of Cedric's voice and the lead guitar giving them a clear sense of orientation in the mix. The drums feel somewhat compressed but where things feel a bit lacking are with the bass. The bass really lacks any punch with the resulting sound coming off as congested, mixing with the mid tones and fogging up much of the soundstage. The bass definitely isn't as bright and punchy like Chanbara (In/Casino/Out) or even have any pop like Enfilade (Relationship of Command), but it's still better than the digital mix of the album.

The digital version does have a tighter bass sound but it's even less pronounced than the vinyl version while still having the same issues. Overall the album benefits from a vinyl pressing but it still feels like they could have separated the elements a bit more and added some heft to the bass.
