Out of the 4 new releases in the Spring 2017 batch this title caught me off guard. The music on here is not typical of what I usually hear expect on the other Constellation Tatsu tapes I've picked up for over the past. Atariame has a total experimental lofi / shoegaze sound that mingles with electronics at times reminding me of Seefeel, Stereolab, Sigur Rós and múm. Listening to a catch shoegaze beauty like "Fluffy Paws" I can see this release crossing over to fans of Lush. I crossing my fingers that Atariame will put out more music as for now they only have two known cassette albums to offer their fans and new listeners like myself. "The Pretty Takes it All" is a really nice ambient chill track that captures the other side of Atariame. "Glasses Disaster" is another nice heavenly number while "Hello New Day" is the shortest track on this release and is probably the most experimental. It's a track that I think should've been given over 2 minutes but at a minute and 39 seconds it will do. I think it was a good choice for the album closer.
