While listening to this record many thoughts about Herbie Hancock's Head Hunters and Chick Corea's Return to Forever came to my mind. One can look at the central part of _Brazilian Soul_ like an homage to those two precursors of the power jazz-funk-fusion style. I especially like _O Lance_ and _Sem Destino,_ the two tracks having the less of the brazilian touches.
