'My People' is one of the greatest ever soul-to-reggae crossovers, in my view, as it retains much of the incantatory power of Eddie Kendrick's spine-tingling classic, but married to a chugging, trenchant rhythm and tethered to a highly expressive bassline, with a wailing Bibby in full flow.

I think that 'Brothers Stand Up', another firing tune from the 'Dancing Shoes' album, also came on a Jamaican Third World 7".... both rare and desirable cuts from one of reggae's largely unsung heroes!
