Really not great IMO. As background, I'm really not sure how I feel about Baroness after Red. Blue Record was aight, had some good ones. But Yellow/Green does not sound at all to me like their earlier releases, which I loved. They have given the vocals (all singing?!?!?) more prominence and seem very focused on writing pretty melodies. I'm all for a band maturing and doing what they want, but Baroness sounding so pretty through a whole album feels wrong. A lot of the songs feel very formulaic now and seem to lack the passion they used to have.

This release in particular is very meh. The sound quality is not great, although if I didn't already know what they were supposed to sound like, I would like the muddied vocals here. I am also having some real issues with bad surface noise on my brand new copy that has no visible scratches or scuffing. The only feature saving this thing from a 2 is the beautiful wax it is on, and this coming from someone who used to say they loved this band.
