My good friend easygroove played it back when it was first released
Respect the techno

I think, Trak is one of the blueprints of techno and one of the best tracks ever made. It has always had a feeling to me that it was born out of one live moment. You can dance to it or just listen and enjoy how great the multiple, strange sounding sequences twirling into another. And even if the sequences sound totally strange and almost alien-like, they have a real deep warmth. And there is another point making it outstanding: Although one could think that techno needs a hard beat to be techno the bassdrums are mixed in the background, only slightly shimmering through in the breaks. An absolutely timeless masterpiece.

This record, side A, really got me into techno. This one track changed it all. Back in 93, when everything was new, black, polished and chrome ... and the nights never ended ... // How can anyone sell this record?!

This is one of the best techno records ever produced. A timeless track which outshines all other Basic Channel releases. Even after listening to it for the 100th time, it still is a dark, atmospheric, mindblowing, hard piece of electronic music.

I always remember listening to this whilst at the peak of a heroic dose of mushrooms. It was prior to it's release from a cassette I recorded off the radio so at the the time it was pretty fresh and sounded amazing. Gritty and upbeat, giving real form to the then developing Basic Channel sound, I still find it inspiring today.
