DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYWHERE THAT A DOWNLOAD OF THIS IS AVAILABLE???
Why can't we have this music? why is it that we who don't have huge amounts of cash can't even hear this record? it really is out of order and I would think Basil would be appalled that those of us who love his music can't even remotely afford it. Basil is sadly dead so who is making money from his amazing music? I'm going to keep checking online to try and get this any which way I can, even an illegal download will suffice for the time being, I'm sure there will be plenty of Russian sites to oblige!

Wasn't this sold to raise money for the excellent radio station Resonance FM or a charity?

I asked him via email, and Jonny Trunk said this is hopefully going to be re-pressed or appear at least as a download some time this year.

Apparently, this will eventually get a proper full release through Trunk Records in the future.

I agree that it is extremely frustrating that most of Basil Kirchin's music is unavailable except to the super-rich. He would have hated that. To see that someone is asking £300 here on Discogs for a copy of his "Shuttered Room" soundtrack is immoral as it's a really great score. (Of course, that's pigeon-feed to the £3,000 being asked on Amazon for a scatched and crappy-sounding acetate of his "Worlds Within Worlds" album! The world's gone mad.)

To the reviewer who despairs of ever hearing the "Shuttered Room" soundtrack, have you considered buying the DVD of the movie? It's still available as part of a horror double feature release from Warner Home Video and the music plays an important and integral part in the film. It's a Region 1 NTSC release from 2008 but that's not a problem for most people. It's gone up in price recently but, at around £30, it's still ten times cheaper than the vinyl!
