93-95 jungle fans who skip the Impact back catalog due to it being known primarily for happy hardcore, do so at their own risk. Amongst the happier stuff, there's EPs like this nestled in there! "Bass Riddim" is a pretty underrated 93 darkside track - top notch beatwork (highly distinctive and well chopped/layered) with nice dark pads and decent vocal samples, plus a big familiar omnious hardcore lead chopped a bit in the breakdown. I'm trying to remember the original source of that lead, but only remembering its later use on a DJ Spice 10" on Soapbar. "Let It Rip" lets bits of happy show through, mainly in the second section, and features some 4/4 kick (still subtle), but it's miles away from the happy style Impact and Sedders were most known for back then. Huge EP in my opinion, 5/5.
