There isn't a review on this yet? That is odd... To me one of the greatest edm releases of all time, and I say that with half a heart in light of Bassnectar's recent choice of path. Having sold his soul to the devil and currently cashing in on his shitstep projects, it becomes hard for a person to comprehend that we are talking about the same artist. What is contained within the borders of Mesmerizing The Ultra is a deep dive into the essence of electronic dance music experience. Groove after groove, refreshing twisted twisting melodies invite you to explore yourself and your dancing feet. A wide variety of instruments and ethnic influences are present, but the album feels at home only within a certain bpm range and genre. Again, I don't know what went wrong with this guy. Most of the tracks are way beyond average and I feel I learn alot only from listening, having also the perspective of a producer. I am astonished at how easy it is to like this! Don't know what could possibly create such a flood of creativity (was he doing drugs?) but I hear and feel the flood within this album. Very memorable!
