I have just heard this "butchered" abortion. David Dexter should have been taken on to the Tower Roof then thrown off.
It's not the compilation, or the lack of tracks (3) that being bad enough, But what Dexter did sonically to the master tapes already shipped over from the UK.

It beggers any belief that UK EMI, as the owners, investors, controllers of the Tower (That EMI paid for and had built and its studios and staff etc etc,) permitted or allowed this absolute crock of sonic rubbish to be cut, metaled and then pressed! Sir Joe and the Board should have gone ballistic, It is rather bile-inducing why they didn't,, its called money, Capitol Inc were making EMI lots and lots and lots of money by making and selling lots of Beatles records and tapes. That does not make it right what Dexter was allowed to do and continued to do unchecked by George Martin OR the MD and Board back in London.

How can any saine Beatles fan ever listen to She's A Woman OR I Feel Fine as presented here? Its so sad and gut wrenching.

All copies of this 1964 make a few extra $'s compilation vinyl 8-track, reel to reel cassette and vile CD should be destroyed. I feel so sorry that the American youth 1964 - 1967 then 1970 + had to endure, and listen to the Beatles FEATURING David Dexter at the desk. You will hear this like this or not at all!

I assume the original VJ release in both Mono and Stereo of the UK "Please Please Me" full/complete album was cut, metaled and pressed with out undue tampering and altering of the crisp and clear George Martin UK mixes.

I think all the USA albums up to Sgt P. but excluding The VJ "Introducing The Beatles" (The USA version of Please Please Me album) should all be apologized for to the USA public not reveared as CD box sets. IMHO bin them.
