About halfway in listening to this. Excellent so far. Has some better known songs and songs from the obscurer Reh-sessions and demos. SALOMOON 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

I feel very distasteful about compilations in general: unless they're adequately compiled by the band itself, they're usually just basic-ass "these are the hits"-wastes of money for anyone owning at least a single of copy the band's best works (case in point: "Introducing Darkthrone"...). This compilation, however, manages to stand up on it's own: it's a very diverse and a beautifully set-up comp of Beherit's works.

There's stuff from every release up until "Electric Doom Synthesis" - my favorites of course ripped from "Drawing Down The Moon" and the infamous "The Oath of Black Blood" (if I remember correctly, the band spent all money received from the US-label "Turbo Music" on booze, and the label put out an LP-comp of their demos and the only single they had released officially, "Dawn Of Satan's Millenium"). I was quite pleased to find out that this comp is 3/4 of the classic black/death-mix of Sarcofago and Bathory-influences, and only 1/4 of the experimental electronical stuff. Even I have a hard time understanding why frontman Nuclear Holocausto Vengeance went into such a bizarre direction with his project, but atleast we got "Engram" in 2009, right?

Now, I gotta come forward about this, but I got my copy of this on vinyl for 9,60€. That's why I feel so warmed about it, I would've passed this if this was still on the shelves for 30-40€. At that point, I would've just gone for either "The Oath of Black Blood" or "Drawing Down The Moon" - only if they'd get repressed on black wax or tape already! I'm really hoping for Primitive Reaction or Spinefarm to come forward on this. But, as a cheap relic that enables me to blast my house full of evil energy and the pure essence of death with songs like "Salomon's Gate" and "War Command", I don't feel disappointed. Beherit is still Beherit, after all. HAIL BEHERIT!
