The Betterdays formed in 1960, their first recording was an ep released on the Oak label which featured Hush Your Mouth,Here 'Tis and Cracking Up, their second was Honey What's Wrong b/w Don't Want That. Until now none of these recordings have ever been issued. It was much later, in 1965, when they actually recorded the single Don't Want That b/w Here 'Tis which were different versions to that on the Oak EP.

'Crackin' Up' has been taken from the Oak label recorded in October 1964 - featuring typical R&B harp by Bob Pitcher. This different version of 'Don't Wan't That' comes from the EMIdisc record. 'Here 'Tis taken from the session at RG Jones studios was a fill-in practice session - but recorded. The group apparently used this number to warm up, and vocals were included only as a guide for the band. [taken from Dave Teil's sleeve notes]
