Classic rather slept on album. Mainly produced by Lord Finesse the production is often criticized for not living up to the rapping, however to me it sounds great. Classic DITC smokey jazzy samples with thick double bass, glistening vibes and electric piano. It was apparently subject to some record company tinkering to lessen the dark mood before release with Put it On created as a catchy single and Street Struck adding a bit of worldly advice as a reaction to the nihilism of tracks like All Black.

Big L dominates the tracks, despite being mixed rather low against the beats, with his classic story telling and classic lines like "I wasn't 'poor', I was po', I couldn't afford the 'o-r'". Always assured with a lot of variety to his delivery Big L is on my Ipod a lot more then many of the other bigger names of the time such as Biggy or Jay-Z (who guests on Da Graveyard).

As far as the poor sound quality I bought the CD off Amazon for about £5 and it sounds fine.
