Disappointed. First of all, the packaging is superb, looks and feels very premium, and the vinyl records are protected very well. However, firstly, the sleeves/jackets inside the box have significant wear on the cover, scuffs that cannot be removed. Secondly, the record came with and insane amount of static. Thirdly, and most importantly, the records had very noticeable surface noise that did not disappear after basic wet cleaning. I suspect it will be better with vaccuum cleaning which I will try at one point. I contacted MOFI and was told that it is due to the nature of vinyl and that there is nothing they could do about it. Sure, vinyl records are not perfect, but when you spend this much advertising the low noise floor and quality control of your manufacturing process and when the customers are spending this much money for your premium products, shouldn't we be expecting not much less than perfection?

I read about an error affecting a portion of these where side 1 was actually the SRV one-step pressing, or something along those lines. Is there a number range out of the 6,000 that are more prone to having this mix-up? Meaning, the number printed on the back of your set, not a total number affected.

This is my first One-Step, and I love the sound, but boy-oh-boy is the packaging prone to scratches and mars. The outer packaging is a very unique matte finish that picks up scuffs at even the slightest touch, and the black sleeves containing the LPs appear to have been dragged across the warehouse floor before they threw vinyl in them.

After a few listens, you can't help but be impressed. Packaging is gorgeous, as is the vinyl itself. The soundstage is as intimate and real as anything in my collection. In particular, what gets the hair up on my arms with every listen is LaFaro's solos.

A few of these have turned up with the Texas Flood one step on side one.
Check the runout to make sure it is 009 and not 005

How is the sound on this bad boy? Looks like it's sold out on Mofi's site now.
