I am trying to find details on Black Sabbath Sabotage. my copy is on NEMS 9119 001 Deluxe but the label has the large silver NEMS label but not Record and Tapes below. I brought this copy circa 1978 but I cannot find any reference to this record. Any assistance or details would be greatly appreciated

Such great tracks with superb vocals, brilliant song writing, amazing arrangement, stunning guitar work, tight drumming and so much swagger, this LP is so fricking cool. This album oozes so much funk and soul its ridiculous. Class Hard Rock LP

I completely agree with the previous reviewer. This is perhaps the most underrated of the Ozzy-era Sabbath albums. Varied, dark, evil... yet still full of very heavy metallic riffing throughout. In some places, they even manage to sound more like Priest than themselves (or is it that Priest tried to sound like some of this album? Not sure, it could be either). I also suspect that Rush copped an earful of this album as well, as some of the riffs sound like they could have been written by, or for, Alex Lifeson. None of this is a bad thing, by the way, and simply demonstrates the variety of music on this album - which is, perhaps, why some aren't quite so keen on this release. Sadly, it was indeed the beginning of the end, and they failed to produce any more truly classic albums until "Heaven And Hell", though I know that some will disagree with that comment, but to me, H&H is an out-and-out metal masterpiece.

Best sounded CD -SABOTAGE- & VOL.4 is on BLACK BOX USA RHINO-WARNER 2004 & Repress 2015 box set(but cheap covers) and possible digipack Rhino-Warner 2016. CASTLE remasters 1996 & UNIVERSAL 2009 have a VERY BAD SOUND!!!!

Any recommendation for the best sounding CD version of this album? I'm wondering if the newest remasters are over eq'd?

I have a Greek version of the album (1975) not listed here...

The last good album with Ozzy as vocalist. Here we see Sabbath at its rawest, darkest, hardest and seemingly barely holding on to reality before they finally collapse.
