I have seen Blackbird Cathedral perform twice now and just bought their first cd. After listening to it I feel this review is appropriate. This is truly beautiful. Each song creates a different emotion that can be confusing but absolutely complete at the same time. With so much breathing room, the music fills the pockets of space left by bare instrumentation with simple emotional resonance that might not have prevailed with denser arrangements.

Blackbird Cathedral‘s first album brings a glimmer of hope. Here, everything is brushed away and beauty with a sense of awkwardness is slowly exposed through each song. Each song title is very fitting and with such talented musicians this is not surprising.
Highly recommended.
