Frontosa: hey man-- I have the same DC tape! I was just able to ID this because I found a copy of Brass Construction 2 yesterday from the dollar bin, and hearing this I said, as I often do when listening to 70s soul and disco, "I recognize that!" I just did a quick Discogs search...and here I am. Another record that sampled the Brass Construction tune was this http://www.discogs.com/Braxton-Holmes-Braxtons-Funky-Disco-Midgets/release/2066. What did we ever do without Discogs?

The track "Right Now" is amazing. OK, maybe the rest of this record is pretty bad, but track B1 is house music perfection! The first time I heard it was on an old Derrick Carter tape. It took me years to finally ID it. Then one fateful day I found it in a dusty old record store in Brooklyn.

It is a perfect house tune. Don't sleep on this one! If you're into disco/funk influenced house then buy this!

It has a groovy bassline, perfect little samples, a tiny bit o' flute, and just the right amount of vocal samples: "Gotta do it, gotta do it, gotta do it, gotta do it right now, right now."

If you're into Mark Farina/Derrick Carter type house then put this in your crate.
