It’s May of 2018 and I’m still wishing this album had a decent sounding pressing. Pass by it all the time when choosing something to spin and have to refuse this one every time because it’s just such poor vinyl listening experience.

Definitely could have used a 2xlp release. Volume is very low. Great album though.

Despite being limited to 200, it appears there are some available still on bleep for $25.99 https://bleep.com/release/78537-blanck-mass-world-eater

Very disappointed with this one. Blanck Mass has made a terrific album here, and it deserves the best treatment. This is not it unfortunately :( Flat and distorted at times, crackling noises all over.

That said, the artwork is excellent and the red marble vinyl most certainly LOOK good.

Just joining in on the commentary for this release - what a shame. There is no depth to anything on the record and the bass is lacking throughout. I agree it's quiet but it's also 'flat' and 'thin.' What a wasted opportunity to present an absolute monster of an album on vinyl. I agree it should have been over 4 sides and it's a shame that this is the result of a vinyl mastering session at Abbey Road Studios with Frank Arkwright.

I was really looking forward to this one. Dumb Flesh was a real shot in the arm, and the Confuso EP and D5 single carried some momentum. So what's the matter? I can't quite put my finger on it but I think it might be lack of suprise and lack of variation. Things open brightly with an off-kilter music box meets organ (real organs) grinder into the big opener with trademarked choppy vox samples, fearsome rhythms and layered distortion. After that there seems to be a settling back and coasting, ideas are stretched and a needed 'brooding lurker' fails to appear. Tracks pass like roadsigns to a destination I commute semi-regularly. It all sounds a bit anticlimactic, which is not to say anything is poor, I just expected to be terrified by the big snarly snout, instead I'm patting this mutt on the head.

Weird that this is on single vinyl. At 50 minutes long, that's easily 10 minutes too long without seriously sacrificing the fidelity — hence the low volume. Given that previous albums are 2LP (and Fuck Buttons), this was obviously a cost-cutting decision. A poor one at that.

I am fairly new to Blanck Mass's work, but I've known Fuck Buttons for a long while. I really liked these tracks previewing them on his bandcamp, so I thought I would give this album a shot and preordered it. I have to say, I am pretty underwhelmed by the pressing. You have to really crank this thing, and it still is not nearly as enveloping as I would like. For an album that asks the listener to "LISTEN AT MAXIMUM VOLUME" on the sleeve, I was sure expecting a louder record. It's too thin and quiet for what this music demands. Why not spread it onto two discs and give it the room it needs? It's nearly 50 minutes of maximalist electronic music... Of course it needs more than one disc! Musically this is a 5 star album. This pressing just doesn't do it justice. I have listened to the digital version on headphones (blasting obviously) several times now and this album kicks ass. I don't know why it didn't get a proper vinyl cut.

Is the volume of anyone else's copy kind of low? I have to turn up 6-8db high than usual.
