This album is as punk as Mary Poppins and as equally nauseating. ... I bought the album when it was released in NZ as a young punk and the moment the needle began to vibrate within the groove of the first track my sense of balance started to fail. Soon my perception of spatial orientation was lost and I crumbled to the floor - what was this garbage? Barely able to move but with my arms now flailing wildly in a desperate attempt to change the vinyl, the next track started. It didn't get any better, or worse - except for now being in a near catatonic state, unable to move nor able to call for help. The third track started and then came extreme nausea. Sadly I was still conscious and could still hear, however, most fortunately I blacked out at some point.
Blitz as I knew them were no longer and this instantly became my most hated album - worse thing was that I owned it. Luckily it got nicked - or I got rid of it - who cares I was free of it.

excellent record..the reason that many punk bands shifted to the post punk sound was because post punk was the evolution of punk rock..just like punk was the evolution out of the 60s garage and the 70s glam..this is a very cool record.

It's real fucking good but no one would ever guess it's the BLITZ that made 'Voice of a Generation' LP. So many punk bands have copped the goth / post-punk thing. This is a cool LP.
