Maybe its just me, but i find this release quite horrid.

I brought it so i had a CD copy of the classic Blondie hit 'Maria' - which is what i got. But its also lumped with two remixes.

The first one, track 2, the Soul Solution Remix Radio Edit - makes Deborah Harry's voice sound horrid. Now Blondie was, and is New Wave punk - and as we know most 'punk' vocalists are nothing great, unless you're talking about Melodic Punk. But anyway, the acapella used in this remix just highlights how much Deborah can't really sing - also the fact its been slowed down makes it sound worse. Vocals out of the way, this house track isn't something new, and is very boring.

Talvin Singh's Remix, track 3, is a bit of a mis-match for this record. What starts to sound like an atmospheric break-beat track, gets let down by a drowned out acapella. So in a way its not really much of a remix, but more of a mess.

Im usually not too bothered about remixes on CD singles, and at times i do enjoy them but this is just a catastrophe.

Tip: program your CD player to just track one.
