For those of you not familiar with the vomitus electonicus of Harri Honkaniemi’s Blood Ov Thee Christ, hang your head in shame. Then buck up and track down everything you can. As is not the case with most Power Electronics acts, BoTC has a remarkably small discography, so this is mandatory.

One thing I’ve always appreciated about Blood id the realness. It’s raw and straight from the gut. These two tracks are almost definitely live, whether in the studio or otherwise. It sounds like a mic placed on the ground in front of a guitar amp while all the noise just erupts like a feedback volcano. Harri screams almost unitelligbly over the melee, about all I can make out clearly are the fucking’s, but I don’t need a lyric sheet. I can see the hatred rising off the speaker like heat waves on the Houston interstate. There’s the occasinonal yell from someone else in the room. I don’t know if it’s from the crowd or one of the noise-mongers, but it’s apparent all involved are into it.

As for the sound (de)constructors, I’m not that ‘in the know’ to the Swedish inner circle, but besides Harri, Kristian Olsson (Alfarmania, Survival Unit), Maniac Cop and Sado-Mazza are all the guilty parties. This is a fantastic release, but my only complaint is the shortness of the two tracks. The way ‘Blood In’ just cuts off at the end and ‘Blood Out’ comes out of nowhere and ends abruptly as well, I’m assuming it was all from one longer take. No matter, it’s Blood Ov Thee Christ. Just listening makes me want to hit people with a folding chair. Audio violence at it’s finest.

Limited to 200 copies and housed in a heavy stock folded sleeve with amazing artwork from Mr. Olsson. The artwork was also printed on a limited t-shirt also available from Trash Ritual. An absolute must.
