All the tracks on this ep are solid, very representative of its era.

"Smooth Landing" is sort of proto-tech house, with beefy kicks and just a simple, bouncy feel-good housey groove. It's minimal enough and easy to mix with. "Relay" is a funky minimal builder in the tradition of Dan Bell with perhaps more aggressive 909 programming, with more attention to cymbals/hats/crash. The quirky melody line is a bit repetitive but effectively so, as it builds a manic sort of tension. the drums generate most of the dynamics in this one. "Joystick" is my favorite track--pure unapologetic, minimal, jacking robot techno. It features a creepy vocoded voice-like sound manipulated with expertise, pumping drums which seem to drop in and out spontaneously (love that) and just the perfect dark underground feeling. Juan Atkins used to play the shit out of this tune for a couple years, if that's any indication for you of style and quality.

A great ep from a heyday in techno/house sounds. It's going cheap these days--grab it! You won't be sorry!
