A magnificent album. A real shame that Laura Grove's seems to have departed from this style of music, as this one of the finest acoustic singer/songwriter albums that I've listened to. It's actually remarkably complex at times, yet also heartfelt and melodic. Laura's vocals are an acquired taste; quite child-like, though nowhere near as bad as Joanna Newsom's vocals in my opinion. Some similarities can be made to Kate Bush's more folky marterial, although perhaps only superficially. I think this is a cracking album that never really broke into the mainstream like I feel it should've. Perhaps in part due to the overwhelming number of artists in this style at the time of release (an people were more interested in Fleet Foxes etc at the time). Very highly recommended indeed!
