So, I just picked up this reissue and I also have the original press. I just listened to "highlands" and "not dark yet" and compared the quality of the sound. Overall, I think they both sound great but I prefer original press instead of the reissue. On the original pressing the vocals sound more raw and up whereas the reissue sounds more like a CD. The sound quality is crisp and equally distributed. With that said I love that this got a legit reissue. My copy (cover and inner sleeves) was purchased thrashed and has looked like shit for years. It's nice to have one thats in good condition.

I found a new copy of this online for a good price and I just received it in the mail. When I opened it I found much more debris than is typical. Instead of small pieces of paper, it seemed like thick animal hair and it almost covered the records. While brushing the hair off I was even more dismayed to see that there appeared to be significant scratching on the records. I put the first side on my table and the sounds was even worse than expected with loud sustained crackles every rotation. I am hoping it was just a bad copy - but this is by far the worst new record experience I have ever had.

This is a very good pressing. Not sure how it compares to the original since that one is way out of my price range but I can't imagine it sounding much better. Recommended reissue.
