I Love this album to bits. In fact one of my favorites. The song righting on this album is just phenomenal. Bobby Caldwell is a genius for chord progressions. He uses so many clash chords that give this album a jazzy feel to it. Caldwell also gives a fantastic vocal performance, drawing inspiration from the likes of Otis Redding and Frank Sinatra. This gives an amazing blend of soul and jazz vocals all effortlessly done. Caldwell also gives a good guitar performance off. an instrument he doesn't get enough credit for as he was a great soul guitarist. This gives it I large chunk of layering. There's isn't one bad song on the whole thing. I love "Come To Me" and how it slows the whole performance down just before the hit "What You Won't Do For Love". It almost gives the illusion that it's a live performance. It also lets Caldwell show off his vocals. I have to say that the mastering on this record is bad. Lots of high-end squeal and extremely tiny drums all with a super compressed bass. The mix is alright...nothing special but iv herd better and much worse before. 'What id do for a proper remaster-reissue. This is the kind of record you'd listen to on a late summers night whilst contemplating your day before drinking a glass of whiskey. love every moment.
