Who is Bobby Peru? Well, that would be Paul Woolford, a well-known fixture on the UK techno scene. And with DEATH OF A PLAYER, he dips into electro groove ("I've Seen the Future") before plunging head-first into the smooth tech-house of "You Need a Man." The harp on "Chicago Hope" and the string break on "Duel" add a nice touch as well, while "It Ain't Where You're From" goes a little heavier and "Into the Feeling" a little trancier. "Voices" has an appealing blippiness. This player still has plenty of life in it yet.
