THINKING OF YOU begins with Bogdan Raczynski using more organic-sounding drums on "All I Want Is To Be By Your Side But You Don't Care"; the track starts out spare but gets increasingly gauzy with layers. He takes a squall of horns on "I Saw You, With Your Heart, Looking At Me" and adds them to the keyboard blippery. And the blatant aggression (both lyrical and rhythmic) on "Fuck You DJ" is actually pretty funny. But lest you think this is a newer, softer Raczynski, "Unsatisfied Consumer" reminds the listener what chaos sounds like. "Domesticated Violence" is surprisingly sparse in comparison. As well, he goes from nonsensical song titles to titles that are especially long and evocative -- even if they don't match the music in any traditional sense, though "You Broke My Heart, Now You Must Play The Part When You Come Running Back For Me" comes close. A strong step forward.

Friends might quit their friendship with you if you play them that album. Seriously, it is not easy listening, but if you give it a chance you will agree with me that "Thinking of You" sounds like the dirty, barely legal karaoke party in Tokyo I always wanted to be there. As Bogdan says on the booklet: "If you don't pay for this then don't complain when I start making psychedelic trance", don't let this happen, buy this! Better: buy three and give the other two to people you love and to people you hate.
