A previously officially unreleased live recording from Los Angeles on 5th September, 1974, between the Diamond Dogs tour and the Philly Dogs tour. Produced by David Bowie and mixed by Tony Visconti at Human Studios, NYC in October/November 2016. 3 LP set with etching on sixth side.

Recorded live at Los Angeles Amphitheatre, L.A. California, USA 1974, September 5, as part of the BBC coverage of Bowie's 1974 tour and then current period. Some recordings and footage from the concert were first broadcast in 1975 on the BBC TV special "Cracked Actor". In 1990 the professionally recorded tapes were first made available unofficially in a different mix than the one included on the official release. There is a myriad of releases, including some that contain the full intro (here reduced to less than two minutes), and more of the stage commentary from Bowie himself than is included on the official release. See Bowie* - Strange Fascination for the master release of the unofficial releases.

Record Store Day 2017 available in independent record shops, 3-LP set with etched vinyl. Limited edition of 17,000 copies worldwide (5000 for UK).

Artist name given simply as 'Bowie' (in the style of Diamond Dogs) on front cover, spines, labels, and etching.

D1 is preceded by an (unlisted) pre-recorded tape of 'Future Legend', from Diamond Dogs.

Mastered at Air Mastering, London

“Come out of the garden, baby”, and revel in the sounds of David Bowie’s spectacular Diamond Dogs Tour. First broadcast live by KMET radio station, Bowie’s gig at the Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles, 5 September 1974 featured an extraordinary set list showcasing work from several key Bowie albums including Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Aladdin Sane, Hunky Dory, and of course, Diamond Dogs. One of the most expensive tours in popular music history, the tour and the album helped the star to crack the North American market.

My mam really likes the music on this vinyl release, she says it is of good quality for a live recording and that David is in fine form. However, as she has said several times to me now, they really should have picked a photo of David Bowie that wasn't all blurry for the front cover. Surely EMI and Parlophone must have one they could have used that is in focus? My mam says for that reason, this album is only allowed four stars out of five stars.

Sanitised and edited down Super Golden Radio shows bootleg, most Bowie chat now missing and so is street/dork barking intro

170000 copies made...Why is this still going for $80-120 USD???
This is ridiculous...Already many other RSD releases are coming down.....I'm checking on this one every couple or days or so.

The clarity and depth of this one has me floored.
Enjoy it very much...other than the middle pocket in the Trifold (which ripped about a quarter of an inch)-Ouch!
Beautiful gloss and packaging.

Saw a copy of this today a week after RSD in Honest Jons Records in London for a reasonable £35. Deffo worth getting. If, like me, you love David Live (I never understood why that album has such a bad rap, in my view its his best live album) you'll like this.
Great pressing and packaging as well.
