Since this was released, the "Future Set" melody has gone on to become one of the biggest we've ever heard in UK hardcore. The importance of "Future Set" is such that anyone into hardcore would probably recognise it even if they hadn't heard the version on this vinyl.

It prompted a number of spin-offs, remixes and updates: the Styles & Breeze remix of Paradise's "See The Light" (Darren Styles / Breeze* / Hixxy - Clubland X-Treme Hardcore 4), "Future Shining" (Styles & Breeze - You're Shining HTID Mix / Future Shining), the 2009 update that was actually from 2008 (Styles & Breeze - Future Set 09 / Weekend Has Come) and it was also sampled extensively in an early Stylus & AudioJunkie track if I'm not mistaken.

"Future Set" is one of the tunes that always sends a shiver down my spine every time I hear it, regardless of what form it's in (see above). The lead melody is the stuff euphoria was made of; it's just perfect. There are no vocals or other prominent features of the track so to speak of, there are just some beats and a massive main riff.

Both sides will sound dated now to anyone who's only gotten into hardcore in the last few years but this was one of the first hardcore tunes I ever heard and I still love it now.

The remix on the flip is alright; there's nothing fundamentally wrong with it but after the first drop I just find myself wanting to listen to the real thing in all its glory.
