Bought this back in July. Unfortunately Disc 1 outer is warped. I had to save my cartridge from doing a running bunny hop! I was about blame Amazon until coming on here. Now stuck with this out of a return date. Bad, bad QC work!!!

So I returned my defective first copy (Disc 2 was so warped that the needle would leap off the surface like a kid on a skateboard). I get my second fresh copy from Amazon.uk...and now Disc 1 is so warped that you can visibly see the tone arm skipping and shaking. I am so angry. This is one of my favorite records of all time and I would love to listen to it in my living room and not on an MP3. So again to the post office I go, to return it once more. A terrible pressing of a great album.

Bought the extended vinyl version in Totnes this weekend. Glad to report it was perfect- zero warping silent pressing no problems along the lines otherwise reported. I have a Linn Sondek LP12 with a top notch Ortofon cartridge which very seldom gets phased by any record. Did not even have to clean first. My only negative comment is that as with some other new vinyl LP's; it seems strange to not put the vinyl into an anti static inner sleeve as standard. The hype sticker and download card was also included. There was no poster.

Jeepers guys - you're all sacring me with the commetns about pressiing quality... I received my copy last week, but have only listened to the digital download. I'd better spin up the trusty old tt and try out the vinyl. As for the music, this has been on eof my favourite ambient / Eno pices since forever. And as if the music alone wasn't enough, do try and see the movie (For All Mankind), too - it works even better as a soundtrack, I think! Perfect floaty space vacuum sounds.

I like to listen to this album when I am laying on my bed, wearing my headphones. It sounds amazing on my good Sony headphones! As for the music itself, it is very “spacey”. By that I mean it will make you think about the enormity of the universe, and the eternal secrets of the cosmos. One of the things it makes me think about is, is it possible to have a sex in zero gravity? Does anyone here know if that is possible to do? I would like to try it one day with my lovely girlfriend, but I would like to know if it is actually possible to do before I suggest it to her!!

My copy purchased directly from the Eno shop is severely defective. I wont go into the details but I got an immediate response and a replacement copy is on the way. Looking forward to it, the clean sections sound great.

Like everyone else in here I firstly got very disappointed with the pressing quality.
Before playing it I cleaned it in my vacuum machine Pro-Ject VCS using L’Art du Son cleaning fluid. Went to play and the result was not at all what I was expecting. I decided to clean it again with the machine and passed it through another routine of vacuuming it with L’Art du Son and then with only distilled water. The results were amazing.
Now I have a record that if not perfect is really listenable, without noises that distracts me from the music: little to none surface noise, just ‘here and there’ almost noticeable clicks and of course I noticed a non-fill of a millisecond in one track and some light distortion (a couple of times) that did not disappeared (I think this is due to the remastering level that is too loud).

The music… well, no need to comment this masterpiece but I have the original German pressing and I find this one deeper, somehow ‘fatter’, with good dynamics and tone balance. Much more evolving and dramatic as if it was possible…

The second record I confess I was not a fan at the first times I listened to it, but it grew on me and I can now feel it as a continuation of the work but not really a part of it, if this can make some sense to you. In reality ‘Apollo’ needs no extra tracks.

As someone mentioned before, the colors of the cover are disappointing, as the original German pressing looks like a photo of the moon and this cover photo looks like from Mars, being so reddish. Also the white border around the photo does not make sense as it is not in the original cover, but I saw a lot of repressings in which this was done, perhaps to make a difference between the original cover’s edition and the repressing.

However, beware that this is a very demanding pressing and it needs your system to be up to it.

Has anyone gotten a copy of this that wasn't terrible? I was excited about this reissue but all of these negative comments are SCARING me.

Received my copy and have similar pressing issues mentioned by others...some non fill, mild warp, and distortion. My copy did include a download code.
