A soundtrack as simple and soothing as this needs a quiet and flawless press. Sadly its far from it. When getting the chance to choose releases I went for this one hoping the repress solved some earlier issues. They might have succeeded partly but it still remains to a large enough extent to warrant as a complaint. The surface noise is at a low enough level but what really ruins it are the crackles. I have listened to the green release and overall I think this one fairs better, but only by a little. Another dissapointment is the mastering. This is not a remaster and it was clear from the beginning that this was a digital soundtrack. Putting it on analog then of course has its share of struggles to overcome. Its not unlistenable and some tracks fair better than others but overall it has fairly bad dynamics and balancing. Ultimately on some parts you have a great time and others you wish it was better. Not terrible but bad enough for me not to recommend it to anyone but the absolute fans of these songs. At least wait until they try with another repress. If you have to choose between the green and clear Id say go for the clear unless you just love the green look, it wont be that much worse anyway.

Took a chance on this version after reading the poor reviews on the original press.. Zero complaints here.

does this release have any better or worse noise compared to the previous release?
