The sample is from Sylvester Stallone & Michelle Joyner at the start of Cliffhanger "Your not gonna die".

It's one of all eps that i like from str label. 1 & 2 mix very different from each other, but all work similar to dub hustlers atmosphere.

Mastering is in line with most of the street tuff catalog that was in my opinion always a bit off, i've heard many rumors about why, none the less it's still a infrequent offering to come across and well worth picking up if you see it. It won't be leaving my collection personally.

There's quite an unusual production style on these tracks, I'd love to know who the producer was, then perhaps I could hunt down some more of his tunes! The first track is quite chilled with a calming piano line and unusual wobbly bass and drums courtesy of the think break. It's the second track that really kicks it though with an immense intro. Dark film samples pierce the silence then more warped wobbly bass but far crazier than the first track and some decent frantic drum work that reminds me of a runaway train on some rickety tracks. Although it's not incredibly polished for a '95 release it's still really sick and as with a great deal of this sort of music it's the roughness around the edges that provides a great deal of it's charm. This record's well worth checking out if you're interested in the inventive further reaches of jungle beyond all the played out anthems. "Welcome to the next level!".
